Swedish Edmonds Hospital Benefits Spotlight

Spotlight on Swedish Edmonds, a true community hospital

  • April 28, 2021June 11, 2024

Caregivers who enjoy working at a hospital with close-knit ties to the community may want to explore opportunities at Swedish Edmonds. As the largest employer in the city of Edmonds, our campus is a center point for community health and wellness offering more than 200 licensed inpatient beds.

Award-winning health care

Swedish Edmonds is not only committed to excellence, it has won awards for it, including:

  • a 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
  • an A grade for hospital safety from Leapfrog.
  • A ranking among America’s 250 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades.
  • the American Heart Association’s Coronary Artery Disease Gold Performance Achievement Award.

Begin your health care career with us

Our Edmonds campus is a great place for caregivers just starting out in their careers or looking to make a change. For example, we’re currently hiring for various RN Resident cohorts. The Swedish RN Residency Program offers integrated classroom, simulation, and clinical experiences under the guidance and support of Preceptors, Clinical Educators and Professional Development Specialists. See openings here.

Some caregivers start out in a part-time role. Says Shalonda, Clinical Supervisor, Swedish First Hill, “I got my start at Swedish as a traveler at Swedish Edmonds. I loved the environment and the opportunities for growth. People were so welcoming. That’s why I decided to apply for a permanent position, which is what led me to Swedish First Hill.”

Cutting-edge health care

Swedish Edmonds offers a range of primary and specialty care services including:

  • Level IV Trauma Center
  • Behavioral Health
  • Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology Labs
  • Family Birth Center
  • General Medical
  • Intensive Care
  • Oncology
  • Surgical
  • Telemetry

Working in Edmonds

Edmonds is a lovely place to work, surrounded by the sandy beaches of Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains and featuring a thriving downtown with a growing restaurant scene. Originally a lumber town, this walkable gem has shops and cafes to enjoy on your off hours. There’s a Summer Market May through October, several museums and galleries for art lovers, and the nearby Kingston Ferry which offers gorgeous views of Mt. Baker.

Best-in-class benefits

Swedish caregivers receive best in class benefits that put you, your family and your career first. Caregivers receive medical, dental and vision insurance coverage that starts the day they do. They can participate in our retirement and life and AD&D insurance programs and have access to Health Reimbursement and Savings Accounts (HRA, HSA, FSA).

To support caregivers’ wellbeing, Swedish offers health assessments and personal coaching, plus incentives for participating in healthy activities. The Caregiver Assistance Program offers work/life services, resources and expertise, and caregivers can also take advantage of programs such as weight management, tobacco cessation and diabetes programs.

To further support communities like Edmonds, we have the Volunteers in Partnership program, which matches caregivers with volunteer opportunities. We also offer support for life events and family changes like marriage, birth, adoption, and more. Caregivers receive paid time off, disability benefits and ergonomics and injury prevention to promote safe work environments.

Ready for a new opportunity?

We’re currently hiring for a variety of critical roles, from Acute Care Nursing to Medical Assistants to Surgical Technicians. We offer day, variable, night and evening shifts to suit your lifestyle. Find out more or apply here.
