Swedish and Providence announce unified brand in Puget Sound region

  • April 6, 2022June 11, 2024

Swedish affiliated with Providence 10 years ago, and together we make up the Puget Sound region’s largest, most comprehensive network of care. With 22,000 caregivers, eight hospitals, and 244 clinics, we offer more providers and locations than any other health system in Western Washington.

As we look to the future, we are unifying our Puget Sound operations under a shared brand—Providence Swedish—to ease the way of those we serve. We will roll out the new brand over the next couple of years across Providence Swedish hospitals in Lewis, Thurston, King and Snohomish Counties as well as to Providence Medical Group and Swedish Medical Group clinics in Western Washington.

Even as we move to a unified brand, Providence and Swedish will continue to honor one another’s distinct identities as we have since 2012. Swedish will remain a secular organization, and Providence will remain a faith-based organization. Swedish facilities and each Providence ministry will continue to operate as separate employers.

“Together, Providence Swedish will continue to work together to meet the needs and ensure the Puget Sound region is healthy, vibrant and thriving for the next decade and beyond,” said R. Guy Hudson, M.D., MBA, president of strategy and operations for Puget Sound, Providence, and CEO, Swedish Health Services.
